The ‘Save and Resume’ functionality appears to be performing differently to how I had expected.
When taking a quiz and the browser is refreshed, the plugin doesn’t appear to remember user contact details (First Name, Last Name, Student ID, but no email) or responses entered so far. I assume the plugin remembers their IP address(?) or User ID because the timer remembers how many minutes and seconds the user has left.
The plugin only appears to remember or store a user’s contact details and responses in the Results tab after the user has hit ‘Submit’, which is only for the Admin and doesn’t really serve the purpose of ‘Save and Resume’ functionality.
Less of a concern but perhaps still worth raising anyway are (1) that the ‘Load Quiz’ button doesn’t appear to serve any purpose since the quiz loads automatically and (2) I don’t think I’ve ever seen a dialogue box saying ‘Resume Quiz’.

Awaiting your response

KritiJune 11, 2020 at 5:44 am #4559[email protected]ParticipantHi Kriti,
Sorry it’s taken me so long to get back to you but I had exams to mark and a whole bunch of other college work that was all urgent, being the end of semester.
Anyway, on May 28 above, you asked me to try this again. I’ve done all the updates and the issues described still exist with the ‘Save and Resume’ add on.
Step 1: When taking a quiz after logging into that quiz using First Name, Last Name, and Student ID (but no email since my quiz doesn’t ask for one), I refresh the browser (Chrome). QSM then doesn’t remember any of my contact details or responses entered so far.
Step 2: When I log into the quiz again using the same First Name, Last Name, and Student ID (but no email since my quiz doesn’t ask for one), QSM remembers my User ID and how many minutes and seconds I have left but it does not remember the responses I entered when I last logged in.
Step 3: There is a single, small, grey button in the top-right corner of the quiz labelled ‘Load Quiz’. I don’t exactly know the purpose of this button but, if it is to load the student’s responses which they entered the first time they were logged in, then it would be better labelled ‘Load Saved Answers’. Furthermore, when I hit this button, it re-loads the quiz without any of the answers I had entered when I was first logged in. This makes the button redundant since I can just refresh the browser instead if I want to ‘Load Quiz’. In which case, if the ‘Load Quiz’ button serves no purpose, then let’s remove the button.
Step 4: The ‘Next’ button in the bottom-right corner which I use to progress from one page to the next in my quiz does not prompt a save of that screen’s responses. Sure, when I click ‘Next’ and then go back again using the ‘Previous’ button, my entered responses are still there but all these are lost when I refresh the browser (see Step 1 above). Therefore, this ‘Next’ button should really be amended to a ‘Save and Continue’ button so that QSM actually saves all the entered responses on a screen before I proceed to the next screen. This way, when my browser is refreshed and I need to log in again with the same contact details, it remembers all my responses for all the scenes I had completed the first time I was logged in with those contact details.
Cheers,
