ParticipantHello ,
QSM is the best plugin for quizzes, but I can’t use it to configure responses in Portuguese.
I tried to use HTML entities, but they don’t work, because during editing, when saving the answer, the editor changes the HTML entities to accented characters and, since this answer is not registered in the database, points are not counted in the score.
You can see that this problem affects all languages that use an accent, especially in countries with Latin languages like Brazil, whose language uses many accents.
Is there another workaoround besides HTML entities?
Thanks,
WanderleiJanuary 26, 2020 at 2:15 pm #2066Ben

KeymasterHi,
I am able to get the Italian accents working on the following test quiz.
We request you to update the QSM plugin to version 6.4.2
This version should fix the issue.

ParticipantHi,
first of all thanks for the great plugin!Actually we have the same problem. You can find the quiz here: http://rotes-kreuz-germersheim.de/?qsm_quiz=hygieneunterweisung
It has to use german accents. The problem occurs for instance in question 3 answer 1, or question 6 answer 3.
We using the version 6.4.11.
It would be nice to have a quickfix or workarround since QSM quiz should be used to certificate volunteers for Covid19 operation.
Thanks for any help

KeymasterHi Chris,
As you mentioned the following.
“The problem occurs for instance in question 3 answer 1, or question 6 answer 3.”
Therefore, our development team used the quiz’s question 3 answer 1, and question 6 answer 3 to create a test quiz.
There is no problem with it. The following is the screen-shot of the results.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1tH2ExUJXSvA47C2Cs39HzOe1cTmQFlZp
Please check all his answers. Remove any empty spaces after the answer.
If this does not work, please give us WordPress administrator login access details, we will need to login to export the quiz to test.

ParticipantHello Wanderlei,
I understand your issue with the QSM plugin and the handling of accented characters in Portuguese. Here are a few alternative workarounds you might consider:
Use Unicode Encoding: Instead of HTML entities, you can use Unicode escape sequences for accented characters. For example, the letter “é” can be represented as \u00E9. This might prevent the editor from converting them back to regular characters.
JavaScript Solutions: If the plugin allows for JavaScript, you could write a script that replaces accented characters with their non-accented counterparts at runtime, ensuring that the correct answers are stored in the database.
Database Preprocessing: If possible, preprocess the answers before they are saved to the database. This could involve stripping accents from characters or storing answers in a normalized format.
Contact Support: If none of these solutions work, consider reaching out to the QSM support team. They may have encountered this issue before and could offer a steal a brainrot specific fix or update for handling accented characters.
I hope one of these solutions helps you resolve the issue!

ParticipantLocksmith near me explains how to use accents in answers effectively for clarity and accuracy. Accents, such as é, ñ, or ü, help preserve correct spelling, pronunciation, and meaning in various languages. On keyboards, they can be added with shortcuts or special character menus, depending on your device. Using them correctly in written answers shows attention to detail, respect for language, and professionalism, ensuring communication remains precise and culturally appropriate across different contexts.
