    Hi Fosan,

When you see the results of every individual student. You will see a URL under Answer Provided section, just paste this link in the browser address bar. The file will instantly open in the browser. Then Right-click on it and save it to your computer.

This is the fastest and easiest method for accessing files provided by students. Other way is you have to search the media folder for a specific file.

    Hope this helped you.

    Kind regards,
    Kriti

    Hi Kriti,

As expressed twice in this thread already, the link is invalid because it contains spaces (see the _space before and after ‘Dummy’ in my dummy upload):

    Hi fosan,

Can you share the admin credentials of your website so that I can look into the issue. Make sure to set the message as private before sharing the credentials.

    Regards,
    Kriti

    Hi Tony, hi Kriti,

    Bad news, sorry.
I created this topic and, therefore, I get an email when someone posts something on this topic.
When someone marks an answer as private, it is displayed in blue on “https://support.quizandsurveymaster.com/support/topic/how-to-access-uploaded-files/page/2/” without any other indication that “This response has been marked as private.”
BUT in my mailbox, I receive an excerpt from the private response, which becomes absolutely clear! Kriti you should tell your developers to fix this quickly. Tony, you can trust me, I won’t do anything wrong with your admin credentials, I will delete the mail unless you want me to forward it to you?

    Regards,
    Jacques

Hi all, I get the same emails too and see private excerpts, including the [email protected] reply!!!

The method I have used with QSM is to have the QSM team, ie Kriti or a developer to register themselves as a user on my website. Their role initially is a subscriber and I then promote them to admin. That way only that person registering knows the password for the accounts. Once the support is done the accounts could be disabled if required. This follows some basic security best practices.

Kriti, it would be better practice to provide a different method to transfer confidential information rather than use the forum. I can think of a couple. Or advise clients to do similar as I have done?

The other general problem with forums and I assume this one is no different is that all agents and admins of the forum have open access to “private” messages. So anyone in theory at QSM would be able to obtain private credentials. I may be wrong in this case.

    Thanks
    Tim

    Hi Jacques, Tony and Tim,

I understand your concern regarding the security breach of these private messages. I will forward this issue to the development team and we will plan to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

And Tim is totally right here, once the issue is resolved. Admins must change the passwords to protect their data.

    Kind regards,

    Kriti

Hi Jacques and Tim, you guys are awesome! Thank you both for your honesty, integrity and support. I had no idea you two had Admin access to my site yet you chose to not abuse that access. I cannot thank you enough.

I teach English to international students at Australian universities. I also proofread their assignments on occasion with the various universities’ approvals. I am not a tech-minded person or a website developer, I built my website using ‘how-to’ Google searches and plugin searches. Lately, our teaching moved online because of COVID19 and I had to create an online exam so I bought the QSM plugin (but next week, like so many other such teachers, I’m losing my job because the international students have stopped flying in).

Anyway, the point of all this is that I’m not a website developer or a tech-minded person, you two inadvertently had access to my Admin details via this forum without my knowledge, and neither of you chose to abuse that access. It’s behaviour like this that restores my faith in humanity. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You are good people.

Hi Kriti, as you know, I lodged completely new tickets and updated my password accordingly. However, moving forward, I agree with Tim that it would be better practice to provide a different method to transfer confidential information rather than using this forum. Maybe that’s something your team explore.

    Thank you all,
    Tony

    Hi,
All of the question types “file upload” gives the ability to upload a file when answering a quiz.
I have two questions about it:
How can I easily access the files sent by users? I don’t find these files among my media files.
    (Please don’t tell me)
Im not getting the uploads in media or in email I want the respones to come in email also I have export results how can i get the uploads in it

    Awaiting your response
    Regards,

    Deepali

    Hi Deepali,

You can access the files under Results section. You can easily find uploaded images here. But for other files you will see a link, copy and paste the link in the browser tab then you can view this file and also download it on your computer.

Right now, Emails and export results addon doesn’t contain these files. If you like I can forward it as the feature request to the development team and they will try to implement it very soon.

    Regards,
    Kriti
