I have an error 502 in my website. All my pages with a Quiz and Survey Master shortcode are not working and show an error 502 after some time. If I switch off the plugin the pages are loading again. How do I solve this issue?
December 21, 2019 at 7:20 am #1636Kriti SharmaKeymasterHi,
The 502 Bad Gateway error is an HTTP status code that means that one server on the internet received an invalid response from another server.
Please refer to the following article: https://www.lifewire.com/502-bad-gateway-error-explained-2622939

This article doesn’t help me. I tried the steps, but the problem is not in my browser or network or whatsoever. I asked different people to open the pages with Quiz and Survey Master shortcodes in it. None of them can access the pages. If I de-activate the Quiz and Survey Master plug-in the pages are working fine.
The problem is with the QSM plug-in but I don’t know how to solve it. My WordPress and plug-ins are all updated.
How can I solve this problem?December 27, 2019 at 1:24 pm #1673Kriti SharmaKeymasterHi,

I logged in to your website but the QSM plugin wasn’t installed on it. So, I wasn’t able to look at the error. I request you to install the plugin so that I can look into the error.

I logged in to your website but I didn’t record any errors on the quiz pages(screenshot attached). I also noticed that QSM was enabled on your website and it was also updated to version 6.4 which is the current version of the plugin.
Please share with me the screenshot of the pages where you are noticing this error.

To do this disable all the plugins at once and enable them one by one by checking which one is creating the problem. Also, change your website theme to a default WordPress theme to check whether it isn’t creating the problem.
I also noticed that your website has Thrive Architect Page builder installed. Try to deactivate this builder and then check whether page loads or not.

KritiJanuary 9, 2020 at 2:31 pm #1850Vera HuismanParticipantI tried it, but I don’t understand. As I said, the page doesn’t load when QSM plugin is activated and it loads when QSM plugin is deactivated. So the plugin creating the problem is the QSM plugin.
The Thrive Architect Page builder also has nothing to do with it.
I think the problem started when I installed the Add-on ‘User Dashboard’ for QSM. When I noticed the problem I deleted the add-on, but the problem stayed the same.
Any page where I embed a QSM shortcode of one of my quizzes the page fails loading.January 10, 2020 at 5:13 am #1857Kriti SharmaKeymasterHi,
I am forwarding your issue to the development team. I will get back to you soon with the resolution to the problem.

KritiJanuary 10, 2020 at 8:42 am #1863Kriti SharmaKeymasterHi,
We have imported your quiz on our staging website.
This is the quiz
This is the WordPress page with qsm quiz shortcode and qsm link shortcode
It does not cause any 502 error. 502 error is a server response status code and does not tell us what is the cause of the issue.
We suggest you to use the following steps to generate a debug.log file which contains the error log.
1) Set WP_DEBUG in wp-config.php to true
2) Add WP_DEBUG_LOG in wp-config.php
3) Replicate the issue. Make the server show 502 error.
4) Immediately after encountering 502, Use FTP to access wp-content/debug.log
Download the debug.log file
Pass to us the debug.log file and we can take a look into it to try and find out the cause of the issue.
Kind Regards,
Kriti -
