I have been unable to upload the plugin to my WordPress site – I keep getting a 403 Forbidden error, with the message that “A potentially unsafe operation has been detected in your request to this site.” Are there any options besides uploading the .zip file to add the certificate plugin?

    Hello Tammy,

To verify whether this issue really happened only with Certificate plugin, try installing other plugins. Download a plugin from plugins directory and upload it to your site.

If you still get the same issue, read this blog post, that will guide you how to fix 403 forbidden error.

Or you may install the plugin manually via FTP client program: https://wordpress.org/support/article/managing-plugins/#manual-plugin-installation

Okay – found the issue – I had to deactivate WordFence on both the staging & production sites! I’ve uploaded the certificate .zip file, I’ve activated that plug-in…and now I’ve totally lost my place on instructions as to how to use it! Help? Is there a how-to guide for the certificates?

    Hello Tammy,

Glad to hear you got it resolved.

The documentation for Certificate add-on can be read here:
