Hi,
I’m choosing question type “Fill in the blank” and entering %blank% into the correct spot for blank space.
I’ve also:
– Limited one %blank% to one question,
– Entered the correct answer,
– Given the correct answer a value of 1 point,
– Checked the ‘correct’ answer checkbox,
– Chosen text answers (not rich answers),
– Selected ‘Yes’ for hide autofill. However, the question appears on my website with %blank% (see image) instead of an actual blank space which respondents can type their answer into.

May 17, 2020 at 6:51 pm #3963Kriti SharmaKeymasterHi,
As we don’t have your website URL and therefore did not login to check whether customer is setting it up correctly.
Please check the following screen-shot of our example question.

Each question can only have one %BLANK%, it does not work if multiple %BLANKS% are added to a question.
This is my sample fill in the blank quiz.

May 18, 2020 at 12:33 am #3983[email protected]ParticipantHi Kriti,
My website URL is https://theproofreader.com.au/ .
I only entered one %blank% per question.
Please help. I have 59 students taking this exam for the college where I work. The college wanted to approve the exam today because I said this issue would be resolved today.
Thanks

Just touching base to see if there’s an update on this.
Thanks
May 21, 2020 at 2:26 am #4074[email protected]ParticipantHi Kriti. Just touching base to see if thereβs an update on this. I’m wondering if the issue will be resolved in time for my students’ exam or if I need to change all the questions types where I currently have Fill in the Blank question types. Thanks.
May 22, 2020 at 4:08 am #4107[email protected]ParticipantHi Kriti,
I’m afraid I can’t wait for an update on this issue any longer. Please remember that I paid US$129 for the premium bundle so I’m a little surprised that you haven’t responded to either of my two requests for an update over the last two days.
I will now, reluctantly, change all my ‘Fill in the Gap’ questions to ‘Small Open Answer’ questions since my students will take their exam this coming Monday. I simply cannot wait any longer for this issue to be resolved.
Therefore, when your development team do attempt to resolve this issue, they will need to create a new quiz to test the ‘Fill in the Blank’ question type there. With my students’ exam being on conducted on the next working day after today, I cannot risk them testing or amending the exam I have created. Please relay this to them, that they will need to create a new quiz to test the ‘Fill in the Blank’ question type and to please not use any of the quizzes I’ve created since I have 59 college students taking the exam on Monday.
Best regards,

Perhaps is it about the difference between %blank% and %BLANK% ?

JacquesMay 22, 2020 at 11:04 am #4118[email protected]ParticipantJacques! THANK YOU!!!!!! π
That was the problem! Unbelievable that the solution was so simple, yet so elusive.
You are a star! You legend! I cannot thank you enough. Go into the weekend knowing you’ve helped someone tonight all the way over in Australia to complete their exam for 59 Language for Health Science students on Monday coming. Have a great weekend! π
Attn: Kriti – Close this ticket off and tell the development team the issue has been resolved. Oh, and you should give Jacques a job!
May 22, 2020 at 11:51 am #4119Jacques NParticipantHave a great weekend too π I know how hard it is when you’re a teacher and that your boss can’t understand how hard it can be to use some techs about online teaching.
Regards,
Jacques
