adeParticipantHello,
Can the front of the flashcard and the back of the flashcard be different sizes. The question is short but the answer is long and the front looks awkward with little text in a large box.Thank you,

Kriti SharmaKeymasterHi there,
This can be done with custom CSS. But this leaves some white space above the text ‘Card 1 of 1’ and it looks a bit awkward than little text on the ‘Front’ card and a large amount of text on the ‘Back’ card.
Kind regards,

Rachel BerryParticipantHello,
Unfortunately, no, the front and back of a flashcard generally cannot be different sizes. They are designed to be a single, cohesive unit, so they will both be formatted to the same dimensions. To make your flashcards look better, you can try adjusting the font size or using a template that allows for more flexible text arrangement. For a short question, you could also consider adding a related image to take Official Site up some of the space on the front.

Miranda ChandlerParticipantHi, this is a common issue with flashcards when the content length differs a lot between front and back.
In most systems, the front and back of a flashcard are designed to share the same card size for consistency, so having different sizes isn’t usually supported directly. However, you can improve the appearance by adjusting the layout—for example, centering the short question, increasing font size, or adding spacing so the front doesn’t look too empty.
Another option is to redesign the card format slightly, such as adding hints, context, or even an image on the front side to better balance the space. Some platforms also allow custom CSS or templates, which can help you control how content is displayed without changing the actual card size.
Which flashcard platform are you using (e.g., Anki or Geometry Dash another tool)?
